1. The Consultation

   During your initial consultation, Dr. Esmail will take a full medical history and discuss your personal goals for facial rejuvenation. To help guide the process, we encourage patients to bring photos from 10–15 years ago, which provide valuable insight into your natural aging patterns. Using advanced skin analysis and 3D photography, Dr. Esmail will carefully assess your facial structure and design a customized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and desired results.

2. Day of Surgery

   After your facial rejuvenation procedure, it’s normal to experience some swelling and bruising, though most patients are surprised by how little discomfort they feel. In fact, many report having little to no pain during recovery. You’ll return home with a soft facial compression dressing, along with prescribed medication to support healing. No drains or bandages are required, which makes the recovery process simpler and more comfortable. The first week is focused on rest and recovery, allowing your body the time it needs to begin the healing process.

3. Post-Op: Day 1

   The morning after your surgery, you’ll return to the clinic for a short follow-up visit with Dr. Esmail. During this appointment, he will remove your compression garment and carefully check your incisions to ensure proper healing. The visit is quick, usually about five minutes, but it’s an important step in your recovery.

4. Post-Op: Day 7

   During this stage of recovery, we’ll begin removing some of the non-dissolvable sutures and checking in on the healing process. While this can cause some temporary discomfort, we provide options to make the process easier, including the use of laughing gas for added comfort.

5. Post-Op: Days 9 to 10

   Any remaining non-dissolvable sutures will be removed at this follow-up appointment. Your dissolvable sutures will not be removed and will remain until they dissolve on their own.

6. Post-Op: 1-Month

   Incision lines typically begin to fade and smooth out within one to three months after surgery. During this period, it’s normal to notice some temporary lumps, bumps, or irregular swelling in the face and neck—these are part of the healing process and will gradually resolve. Your surgical nurse will arrange a complimentary skin consultation to discuss procedures that can enhance and prolong the results of your treatment.

7. Post-Op: One Year

   While you’ll notice improvements as swelling subsides, it often takes up to a full year to see the final results of a Visalyft. The transformation is gradual, but the overall changes are dramatic. You’ll see a full restoration of youthful contours and a natural, refreshed appearance that lasts.
