3. TIMELINE

Surgery

Most adult otoplasty can be done under local anesthetic and sometimes oral sedation. There is minimal pain after surgery. You will go home with a headband that needs to stay on for 1 week. After this she will also wear this headband at night for the next 6 weeks.

The Consult

A consult is required to determine what type of otoplasty is right for you. If this is for a child under 16 a consult from your family physician is required.

1 WEEK

Headband will be removed at the one week visit. All other sutures are dissolvable. The incisions will heal completely by 6 weeks.
