Hyaluronic acid fillers (dermal fillers), are used to fill in and plump up wrinkles and folds on the face. They can also add to features that look flat or sunken in, especially on the cheeks, lips, tear troughs/hollows, temples and jawline. Hyaluronic acid fillers are most commonly injected into the nasolabial folds, nasal bumps, upper forehead, brow creases, eyelids and chin.
Suspended in a gel formula, hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body, works from the inside to attract water and plump up the deficient area. Each acid filler has a different molecular size or density, allowing us to choose the right product for you based on your skin type and concerns.
Thicker gels are most appropriate for building volume in areas such as the cheeks but, because of their size, are more likely to cause temporary visible needle marks and some bruising. Less dense fillers work well for fine wrinkles around the eyes, crow’s feet and lines on the upper lip – they do not need to be injected as deeply as thicker formulations.
